If you are a foodie, this is your go-to breakfast place. Their specialty is chocolate chip pancakes, and according to Morgan in Customer Success, you’re going to want more than one order of them! Just make sure you call ahead, sometimes they can be pretty busy.

549 Gillis St.

Local, sustainable ingredients always make for a big win with the staff of PetDesk. This spot is pretty tiny, but it packs a big punch. Kayser, a Technology Consultant, insists that the eggs are the best he has ever had!

105 W 9th St.

If you are craving fresh air and would enjoy having breakfast outdoors, then Banksia is for you! PetDesk’s Operations Manager, Jose, raves about the Lamington – a cake from Australia. This restaurant is actually owned by an Australian, so you can look forward to interesting eats from across the world!

The reviews are in, and Grünauer is the place to check out if you are in the mood for Austrian food. Even if you aren’t in the mood, you should still stop by for their extensive list of German beers. Annemiek from Sales Operations is a huge fan or their veal!

If you’re not in the mood for Austrian, maybe Vietnamese will strike your fancy? Tony, our Technology Consultant, is adamant that everyone tries their Pho. If you’re looking for a casual place with to-die-for food, this is the place to go. (Yes, we know that rhymed.)

1927 Mcgee St

For a nice sit down meal in a quaint place look no further than Novel. They serve a mean pork chop according to Branon, our Director of Strategic Partnerships. This is also a wonderful place to order a craft cocktail if you’re looking to wet your whistle with something a bit different.

Feeling jazzy? The Green Lady is known for its sophisticated, let laid-back and romantic feel. The decor is quite eclectic and the music will keep you moving all night long! Our Director of Continued Education, Sam, says a trip to KC isn’t complete without swinging by the Green Lady Lounge.

Not only does SoT top Yelp’s recommended list, it also tops our Digital Marketing Guru, Daniel’s, list too. Daniel recommends snagging a seat on the back patio and hunkering down with a nice drink – their list is quite magical! His favorite is the Automatic, Supersonic, Hypnotic, Funky Fresh cocktail.

What to Do in DC

2534 Madison Avenue

This once small time brewery is now one of the largest in the Midwest! If you have never taken a brewery tour before, now is your chance. It is a fascinating 45-minute walk through the facilities, where you get to learn how the beer is made. Taste tests please! 

20 E. 5th Street

This market has been around for quite a while, and by a while we mean 1857! There are tons of stores and restaurants to check out – there is no chance you’ll get bored strolling around this hip market. Emma, a Customer Success Manager, loves to check out their live music!

909 North, KS-7, Olathe

If you didn’t get enough of the animals at the conference, or at work for that matter, you need to stop by the Ernie Miller Nature Center. The center is in the middle of a gorgeous 116 acre nature reserve with tons of birds and insects. Geoffrey, our Practice Management Consultant and bird lover extraordinaire insists it’s a superb place for bird watching. 

5235 Oak Street

Who reading this had a doll house when they were a kid? Vivian, our Customer Success Manager, sure did and she wants all other toy lovers to put this museum on their list. She insists it’s a hidden gem and it is her absolute favorite stop in Kansas City. This place is a plus if you are traveling with kids!
