If you’re one of the few who doesn’t know, the Western Veterinary Conference (WVC) is an annual conference for veterinarians and veterinary professionals from around the world. Set to take place from February 19-22 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, WVC 2023 offers a variety of educational and networking opportunities to help attendees stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and developments in the field of veterinary medicine.

WVC 2023 CE Courses

The conference will feature almost 1,000 hours of continuing education, covering a wide range of topics such as small animal medicine, equine medicine, food animal medicine, and practice management. There will be over 500 speakers from various backgrounds in the veterinary field, including veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and practice managers.

One CE opportunity to watch out for is “The Fight Against Big Box Retailers: What Every Clinic Should Know” by Mary Schwartz, CVT and PetDesk Senior Sales Enablement Manager. She’ll be taking the stage on February 19, 2023 11:00 AM – 11:50 AM at S21 Mandalay Bay C, Level 2. Mary will be talking about what big-box retailers offering veterinary care like Walmart, Petco, and Lowes mean for vet med professionals and how clinics can thrive amidst the commoditization of care.

WVC Exhibit Hall

The exhibit hall at WVC 2023 will be a hub for networking and learning about new products and technologies. Over 400 companies will showcase their products and services, including medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and veterinary technologies. The exhibit hall will also feature live demonstrations, interactive exhibits, and educational sessions.

Be sure to stop by the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association’s (MCVMA) booth to learn how you can incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion at your own practice, and attend one or all four of their CE courses they’ll be presenting at WVC including topics like: Culturally Responsive Care in Veterinary Medicine with Marie Sato Quicksall and Melody Martinez, and Microaggressions & Their Impact on Health & Wellbeing with Cherese Sullivan and Sohaila Jafarian

While you’re at the hall, pick up a Vet Tech Stack passport at PetDesk booth #412, WhiskerCloud #213, and Vetstoria #313 and work your way through visiting all three booths to collect your stamp and learn about the different ways these companies can collaborate with you to build complementary, best-of-breed technologies and services that create more thriving clinics. Once your stickers are complete, you will turn in your passport and be able to win a $200 gift card to FIGS!

Keep your eyes open as you walk the halls of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, you never know who you might run into.
