AI-powered veterinary social media marketing is on the rise
Veterinary businesses in the United States (and beyond) should be focusing on adding artificial intelligence (AI) to their marketing tool belt. According to HubSpot, OpenAI’s Head of Strategic Marketing said, “In 2025, we expect to see marketers make the leap to using AI for creative ideation, data-driven decision-making, workflow automation, and strategic brainstorming.”
This statement is certainly backed by HubSpot’s survey results, which outlines the many different uses cases in which their survey respondents use AI marketing tools for:
- 43% of respondents use AI for for content creation
- 34% for research purposes
- 27% to brainstorm ideas
- 40% to improve their professional skills, such as using AI to learn an Excel function
- 35% for data analysis
- 27% to take notes or summarize meetings
AI-driven technology can work wonders for veterinary social media marketers. However, understanding and integrating these solutions into workflows has been somewhat of a challenge for some marketers, with only 47% of survey respondents saying they had a clear grasp of how to use AI for their marketing strategies. This makes thorough research, onboarding, and implementation an absolute must when considering and setting up new AI technology for your veterinary marketing strategy.
Not only that, but it’s important to know the value of combining artificial intelligence with real professionals. While AI technology offers a number of benefits on its own, having a human being review AI marketing strategies, for example, is necessary for executing a successful marketing campaign that truly resonates with your target audience.
Social media provides the highest return on investment (ROI) of any marketing channel
As veterinary businesses strive to move into the digital age and function like other profitable industries, it’s important to know which marketing channels give you the best value for your veterinary clinic’s marketing efforts.
When HubSpot asked its survey participants to choose the top three marketing roles in which they expect to be a top priority to recruit in 2025, it became evident that social media is the hottest marketing channel this year.
The top marketing roles to recruit in 2025:
- Content Creator (15%)
- Social Media Coordinator (13%)
- Social Media Strategist (13%)
- Creative Assistant (13%)
- Creative Director (12%)
The reason for such a shift toward recruiting social media professionals, according to HubSpot, is thanks to a huge interest in social media from Gen Zers and Millennials, and Gen Xers. The survey results highlighted the fact that 64% of Gen Z, 59% of Millennials, and 47% of Gen X said they discovered a product on social media in the past three months. Clearly, this shows that social media is an effective way to reach a wider and more diverse audience of pet owners.
The majority of marketers still use Facebook as a powerful platform
58% of survey respondents report that they are continuing to leverage Facebook as a social media marketing tool, and the platform is certainly showing no signs of disappearing anytime soon. Even more importantly, 40% of survey respondents indicated that Facebook is among the top three ROI drivers, serving as a valuable revenue resource compared to other, lesser known channels. HubSpot’s study also explains that two out of three marketers “plan to maintain the same level of investment or increase their investment into their Facebook marketing efforts in 2025.”
Social media is more than just posting great content; it’s about building a brand through customer service
Beautiful graphics and funny pet photos are a small part of social media management. PetDesk Agency monitors your pages and responds to you in real-time, so you can focus on taking care of pets. Why is this important? Research shows that 79% of consumers expect brands to respond within a day of reaching out over social media, but average brand response rates across all industries are lower than 25%.2
