Galaxy Cats

Welcome to Galaxy Cats Vet Center

Founded in 2021, Galaxy Cats Vet Center is a cat-only clinic in Seattle led by Dr. Kristen Kjellberg, DVM. From the start, Dr. Kristen prioritized a tailored and professional online presence to reflect her clinic’s unique values and branding. Initially partnering with PetDesk Marketing for a standout website, the clinic later upgraded to the PetDesk Agency Services plan in May 2024, resulting in significant growth and enhanced visibility.

This case study details Galaxy Cats Vet Center’s journey, showcasing how PetDesk’s expertise in websites and marketing transformed their digital presence, boosted client engagement, and streamlined their operations.

The Journey: From Startup to Sustained Growth

Starting Strong with PetDesk Websites

“As a millennial, I knew having a great website was crucial to me. I didn’t want a generic, boilerplate design—it had to stand out,” Dr. Kristen explained.

Through her connections in the veterinary community, she discovered PetDesk and was impressed by their reputation for creating seamless and visually appealing websites. For her startup clinic, PetDesk Marketing’s affordable monthly Launch Plan was a perfect fit compared to the $2,000 setup fee from a local provider she had also considered.

“PetDesk Marketing did an amazing job with the initial setup,” she said. “I wanted a service where, as a busy person, I could simply send an email and get updates made to the website without having to do everything myself. Also, the look and feel of their websites were very important to me. I had spent a lot of time perfecting my logo and branding, so I wanted a website that would represent that well—and they delivered.”

Dr. Kristen emphasized the role of her website in creating an essential first impression: “I get compliments on our website all the time, so I do think it makes a great first impression.”

The May 2024 Upgrade: A Shift to Marketing Focus

As the clinic grew, Dr. Kristen recognized the need to expand her outreach and attract more clients. After hiring a new veterinarian and increasing her schedule, she upgraded to PetDesk’s Agency Plan in May 2024.

“At that point, I was concerned about cash flow. Since we’re still a newer clinic, it was important to reach out to as many potential clients as possible,” she shared. “June and July were slow, as they tend to be for many in the market, but we’ve shown steady growth since August. The clinic has seen a 10% growth rate from August to November, with one of those months hitting 25%. The added visibility has been incredibly helpful!”

Tailored Marketing Support Driving Results

Strategic Google Ads and Website Enhancements

PetDesk’s team enhanced Galaxy Cats Vet Center’s online presence by fine-tuning Google Ads and helping to enhance website content for performance and conversions.

“Beyond the website, their ongoing support in refining our marketing has been invaluable,” Dr. Kristen said. “They’ve helped adjust the wording to optimize SEO, fine-tuned our Google Ads to target specific, drivable zip codes (a must in Seattle with traffic and water), and even edited blog posts to ensure we get better retention.”

Streamlined Social Media Management

For Marketing Manager Lysha, transitioning to PetDesk’s services alleviated much of the workload she had previously managed solo.

“Before, I had to collect photos, come up with ideas, and create posts myself—it was a lot. Now, it’s so much easier to organize everything. I just need to request something, gather the key pieces, and they take care of putting it all together. It’s been a huge time-saver,” Lysha said.

The consistent posting has significantly improved client engagement, particularly on Facebook.
“We get a lot of referrals through platforms like Nextdoor, and many of those same clients are the ones interacting on Facebook,” Dr. Kristen noted.

Clients also enjoy seeing their pets featured on social media. Lysha explained, “It’s fun for them to say, ‘That’s my pet!’ These small, personalized touches make a big difference in retaining clients and ensuring they feel connected to the clinic.”

“It reminds clients that they’re part of something real—this isn’t some faceless corporation, but a local clinic they know and trust…”

Community Building Through Blogs and Newsletters

PetDesk integrated Mailchimp into Galaxy Cats Vet Center’s website, making it easier to deliver newsletters with improved tracking and engagement.

“When PetDesk stepped in and helped us set up Mailchimp, the newsletters started to flow smoothly. It’s been a game-changer,” Dr. Kristen said. “Clients mention things they’ve read in the newsletter, like new staff updates, during visits. It’s clear they feel more informed and engaged with what’s happening at the clinic.”

By showcasing Dr. Kristen’s blog content on the website, PetDesk has helped strengthen the clinic’s connection with its community.

“The blog posts also come in handy,” Dr. Kristen shared. “It reminds clients that they’re part of something real—this isn’t some faceless corporation, but a local clinic they know and trust. They see the faces behind the clinic, the people they interact with, and I think that builds loyalty.”

Results That Speak for Themselves

Since upgrading to PetDesk Agency Services in May 2024, Galaxy Cats Vet Center has achieved measurable success across multiple metrics:

A 10% increase in patients from August to November 2024, with one month reaching 25% growth.

Time Savings:

Conclusion

“Having a well-designed, professional website has helped us target and attract the right people,” Dr. Kristen emphasized. “It’s made a big difference in creating a positive and enjoyable work environment.”

From the initial website setup to the Agency Services plan upgrade, PetDesk Marketing has been instrumental in Galaxy Cats Vet Center’s growth and success.

“One of the biggest benefits has been having a go-to resource when we’re looking to grow,” Dr. Kristen said. “Being able to go to someone and say, ‘Here’s what we want to do, and this is our goal,’ and then having them make it happen has been invaluable.”

By helping Galaxy Cats Vet Center maintain a standout online presence and build meaningful connections with clients, PetDesk Marketing continues to support the clinic’s mission to provide exceptional care and foster a thriving community.
